The High Line opened in 2009 and West Chelsea's galleries and garages gave way to the most architecturally ambitious apartment buildings in the city: Zaha Hadid's 520 West 28th, Heatherwick's Lantern House, Bjarke Ingels's twisting pair at One High Line, with Walker Tower's Art Deco conversion a few blocks east.

Hudson Yards, built on a platform over the rail yards to the north, added 15 and 35 Hudson Yards, the largest private development in the country's history. The deeds in this district are nearly all from the last decade, so they show a new neighbourhood finding its prices.
