The Village's apartments are mostly in townhouses and small buildings, which is why its few large ones stand out: 150 Charles Street and 160 Leroy on the Hudson, where the largest sales downtown outside Tribeca have closed, and One Fifth Avenue, the 1927 tower over Washington Square that is still the only skyscraper in the district.

To the south, Renzo Piano's 565 Broome brought a pair of glass towers to the edge of SoHo, and the Puck Building in Nolita holds a handful of penthouses over its 1886 printing works.
